How to create a sales quote in Books?
TB Books · quotes · Last updated August 17, 2026 · Version 1
This process works in apps: TB Books, TB POS
This article will teach you how to price a job on a quote and convert it to a work order or invoice when accepted.
Quotes hold tire and service pricing before the customer authorizes work. They live under Orders → Quotes and can start in Books or POS Lite. Converting preserves lines into a work order or invoice so you never re-key the cart — but stock and price should be re-checked on older quotes before conversion.
Steps
- Open Orders → Quotes.
- Click New Quote.
- Select the customer and location.
- Add products and services with quantities and prices.
- Review tax, discounts, and totals with the customer-facing total in mind.
- Save the quote and share or print as needed.
- Convert to a work order or invoice when the customer accepts.
Conclusion & best practices
Re-validate stock and price on older quotes before converting — tires move quickly. Keep quote statuses current so open-quote reports stay useful. Abandoned quotes should be closed or discarded so Hub and CRM follow-ups do not chase dead opportunities.
