How to run a Fresh Start for a training or empty tenant?

This process works in apps: TB Books, TB One, TB Sync, TB WMS, TB POS, TB CRM

This article will teach you how to turn on the Fresh Start permission in TB One, then wipe a tenant from Data Migration so you can train or start over.

Fresh Start is the Danger Zone wipe for a training tenant or a true clean slate. It lives on Organization Settings → Data Migration in any product app, but the permission that unlocks the button is not on Books Permissions. You enable Run Fresh Start (Danger Zone) in TB One (one.tirebase.io) → Settings → Permissions. The flag is off by default for Admin and Superadmin so a shop cannot wipe itself by accident. Users and logins stay; catalog, customers, vendors, financials, locations, and related operational data are deleted and the chart of accounts is reseeded at $0. This is not reversible.

Steps

Conclusion & best practices

Use Fresh Start only on training tenants or an empty shop you are willing to rebuild. Production live data cannot be restored from this wipe except the short-lived job backup. Delete Catalog and Delete Customers are smaller Danger Zone tools and do not require this permission. After a Fresh Start, re-import catalog and customers from Data Migration and confirm locations and tax rates before taking orders.
