How to view customer order history from CRM?
TB CRM · accounts · Last updated August 17, 2026 · Version 1
This process works in apps: TB CRM, TB Books
This article will teach you how to open an account’s Books transaction history from CRM when the records are linked.
When a CRM account links to a Books customer, CRM can surface invoice and order history without switching apps. That lets outside sales discuss real purchases, payment patterns, and fill rates on a call. Empty history usually means the link was never made — not that the dealer stopped buying.
Steps
- Open the Account in CRM.
- Scroll to the order / transaction history section.
- Scan recent invoices or orders for volume and timing patterns.
- Open a document for line-level detail when a Books link is available.
- Note gaps (seasonal slow-down vs missing data).
- Use that context in your next call or visit notes.
- If history is empty, ask an admin to verify the Books customer link on the account.
Conclusion & best practices
If history is empty, the CRM account may not be linked to the Books customer. Fix the link instead of recreating sales history by hand. Never quote AR balances from memory when CRM can show the invoice list.
