This process works in apps: TB CRM
This article will teach you how to add a company account and then attach contacts and notes.
Accounts are dealer or shop companies your outside sales team manages. Each account becomes the hub for contacts, tasks, deals, meetings, and — when linked — Books order history. Strong addresses and deduplicated company names make Routes and Map Runs usable; sloppy duplicates fragment visit history.
Steps
- Open Accounts from the CRM sidebar.
- Search for similar company names before creating a duplicate.
- Click New Account.
- Enter company name, ship-to or storefront address, and territory notes.
- Save the account.
- Add contacts (buyers, managers) while the details are fresh.
- Log an opening note with source and next step so the next rep has context.
Conclusion & best practices
Search for duplicates before creating — especially chains with similar names. Good addresses improve route planning later. If the dealer already exists in Books, link identities instead of maintaining parallel company records.
