How to complete an order / checkout in POS Lite?

This process works in apps: TB POS, TB Books
This article will teach you how to finish lines, collect payment or signature prompts, and finalize the work order path.
Complete Order is the final counter step: review totals with the customer, capture signature when required, and collect payment so the job posts through the Books-friendly work order / invoice path. Finalizing before the customer agrees to the total creates disputes; finalizing before payment succeeds can leave open AR you must unwind.
Steps
- Finish products and services in Order Builder — remove abandoned lines first.
- Open Complete Order from the order actions.
- Review tax, fees, and grand total verbally with the customer.
- Collect signature when your POS preferences require it.
- Process payment with the correct method (card, cash, charge account).
- Wait for payment success confirmation before closing the screen.
- Confirm the work order shows complete and an invoice/payment exists in Books if your workflow posts there.
Conclusion & best practices
Do not finalize before the customer agrees to the total. If payment fails, keep the work order open and retry rather than creating a second job. Void/delete rules in Books still apply to posted invoices — do not double-reverse by deleting voided documents.
