How to manage shop services in POS Lite?

This process works in apps: TB POS, TB Books
This article will teach you how to add or edit labor and fee services that appear in Order Builder.
Services in POS Lite are labor lines and shop fees — mount, balance, valve stems, disposal, alignment packages — that advisors add alongside tires in Order Builder. They live in the shared Books catalog as service items, so pricing and tax settings you set here affect every quote and work order. A cluttered service list slows counter staff during rush hours.
Steps
- Open Services from the POS Lite sidebar (or Products & Services in Books for deeper edits).
- Click Add Service or open an existing service row.
- Set the customer-facing name, default price, and taxability.
- Assign the correct service category if your shop groups fees on invoices.
- Save the service.
- Open Order Builder and confirm the service appears in the add-services flow.
- Run a test quote line to verify tax calculates as expected.
Conclusion & best practices
Name services the way advisors speak to customers (“Mount & Balance” not internal codes). Retire unused fees instead of leaving a long confusing list. Major price changes should be communicated to the team before the morning rush.
