How to map PartsTech suppliers and choose how lines are sold?

This process works in apps: TB POS, TB Books

This article will teach you how to sync PartsTech suppliers, map them to Books vendors, and choose whether parts, tires, and labor land as generic products, catalog stock, or services.

After a location is Connected, Sync Vendors loads the suppliers that PartsTech has for that shop. Mapping a supplier to a Books vendor is required before a PartsTech purchase can post a purchase order. How PartsTech lines are sold controls the work order: parts default to Generic product (SKU GP, no inventory), tires default to Match my catalog (moves stock), and labor defaults to Service line.


Steps

• Open Settings → Organization Settings → Integrations → PartsTech and select the location.
• Click Sync Vendors. The table PartsTech suppliers lists that location only. Books vendors are shared across shops.
• On a row that says Needs mapping, open Search vendors… and pick the matching Books vendor, or click Create vendor “{supplier name}” to create one and map it.
• Under How PartsTech lines are sold, set Parts, Tires, and Labor. Generic product (no inventory) sells as Generic Parts (SKU GP) with the supplier cost. Match my catalog (moves stock) matches by part number and can go negative until the purchase order is received. Service line is labor with no product and no inventory COGS.
• Leave the defaults unless the shop stocks those parts: Parts = Generic product, Tires = Match my catalog, Labor = Service line.
• Repeat Sync Vendors after the shop adds suppliers inside PartsTech. Unmapped suppliers cannot post a Books purchase order.

Conclusion & best practices
