How to purchase PartsTech parts from the supplier?

This article will teach you how to place the supplier order from a returned PartsTech quote, create the Books purchase order, and what mapping must already be done.
After Submit Quote, each PartsTech part line shows the supplier name and Cost. Order (or Order all when more than one supplier is on the cart) sends the purchase through PartsTech and opens a Books purchase order for each supplier. Mapping that PartsTech supplier to a Books vendor in Integrations is required first. If you used Buy Now inside PartsTech, the order is already placed and the button is gone.
Steps
- Confirm every supplier on the PartsTech group is mapped in Settings → Organization Settings → Integrations → PartsTech. Rows that still say Needs mapping cannot post a purchase order.
- On the work order, find the first part line in the PartsTech group. Click Order. If the cart has more than one supplier, the button reads Order all (2) (or the actual count).
- Wait until the line shows PO plus the purchase-order number. The orange link opens the order in PartsTech.
- Open that purchase order in Books if you need to receive the parts later. Tires set to Match my catalog may already have moved stock negative until receive.
- Do not click Order again after a PO number appears — the cart is already ordered.
- If Order fails with a mapping error, map that supplier and retry. If it fails with a PartsTech error, open the order link or PartsTech itself for the supplier’s message.
Conclusion & best practices
