How to shop PartsTech from a POS work order?

This process works in apps: TB POS
This article will teach you how to open PartsTech from Order Builder, shop with the vehicle VIN, and bring parts and labor back onto the work order.
When the org integration is On and the active location is Connected, Order Builder shows a PartsTech card: Shop supplier parts for this vehicle. That card sends this tab to PartsTech. After you click Submit Quote in PartsTech, the same work order reloads with the parts and labor on a PartsTech group. A VIN on the vehicle gives exact fitment; without a VIN, Tire Base asks for a keyword such as brake pads.

Steps
- Check the vehicle in from the Hub so the work order has a customer and, when possible, a VIN.
- Open Order Builder. Confirm the header location is the shop whose PartsTech account you connected.
- Tap the PartsTech card. If the vehicle has a VIN, Tire Base opens PartsTech automatically. If not, enter What are you looking for? (for example brake pads or oil filter) and click Open PartsTech.
- Shop inside PartsTech — pick suppliers, parts, tires, and labor estimates if the PartsTech plan includes them.
- Click Submit Quote in PartsTech (not a new browser tab). This tab returns to the work order. Wait until Adding PartsTech parts to this order… finishes. Do not click PartsTech again while it says Waiting for PartsTech….
- Review the PartsTech group on the ticket. Parts are priced at PartsTech retail (then list, then cost). Labor lands as a service line using the shop rate unless PartsTech sent an amount.
Conclusion & best practices
Buy Now in PartsTech places the supplier order immediately; Submit Quote only quotes, then you purchase from the work order with Order. Put the VIN on the vehicle whenever you can — keyword search is a fallback. Related: How to purchase PartsTech parts from the supplier? and How to enable PartsTech labor estimates?.
