How to import a catalog in Sync?
TB Sync · catalog-import · Last updated August 18, 2026 · Version 1
This process works in apps: TB Sync, TB Books, TB WMS
This article will teach you how to bulk-load products from Excel/CSV via Data Migration: upload, map fields, review, and import.
Catalog import uses Organization Settings → Data Migration → Product Catalog. The same wizard is shared across Sync, Books, and WMS: you upload a file, map columns to Tire Base fields, preview the rows, then confirm. When Quantity is mapped, stock updates post as inventory adjustments and Books can create a journal entry for the inventory value.
Steps
- Go to Settings → Data Migration (Organization Settings).
- Under Imports, choose Product Catalog.
- Upload your Excel or CSV file.
- Map columns such as MFG/part number, brand, size, description, cost, price, quantity, and optional Image 1–3 URL columns.
- Review the preview. If Quantity is mapped, select the target location and choose Update Only or Full Replace.
- Click Confirm & Import and wait until the job shows complete. Mapped image URLs are saved on the product immediately; Tire Base then tries to download each unique photo.
Conclusion & best practices
Bulk imports do not create Global Catalog recommendations — that is intentional to avoid flooding review queues. Prefer Update Only unless you truly intend Full Replace (which can zero stock for SKUs missing from the file). Always keep a copy of the source spreadsheet for audit.
