Why won’t labels print from my phone?

This process works in apps: TB WMS

This article will teach you why a personal phone with Bluetooth or a cable cannot print WMS labels, and which devices can.

WMS label printing is built for Android warehouse devices that Tire Base sets up, talking to a Zebra ZQ630 on Wi-Fi. A personal iPhone or Android — even with a Bluetooth printer, USB cable, or the Zebra app installed — will not print inventory or bin labels from WMS. You can still use a phone to look up SKUs or receive if a scanner types into the page like a keyboard. Printing stays on the Tire Base Android.

Steps

Conclusion & best practices

Scanning and printing are different jobs. Phones can scan; only Tire Base Android devices print. Mixing those expectations is the most common “printer is broken” ticket when the Zebra is fine and the wrong device is sending the job.
