How to use a Tire Base scanner and printer?

This article will teach you what is already configured when you buy a scanner and printer from Tire Base, and what you still do on site.

Scanners and printers purchased from Tire Base ship preprogrammed: the Android device has the Tire Base WMS app, and it is paired to the correct Zebra printer profile. You do not install a random print app or guess a printer model. You still connect the Zebra ZQ630 to your shop Wi-Fi and save that printer’s IP in WMS Settings → Label Printer for the active location. If you are using your own phone instead of a Tire Base Android, you can scan with a keyboard-wedge scanner, but labels will not print.

Steps

• Unbox the Tire Base Android and the Zebra ZQ630. Power both on and confirm the WMS app is already installed on the Android — do not sideload a substitute.
• Connect the ZQ630 to the same Wi-Fi as the warehouse devices. Use Zebra Printer Setup Utility on any iPhone or Android for that step — see How to connect a Zebra ZQ630 printer to Wi-Fi?.
• On the Tire Base Android, open WMS and select the correct location in the header.
• Go to Settings → Label Printer. Choose Zebra WiFi, enter the printer IP, tap Save, then Test Printer. A test label should come out at that dock.
• Open Quick Lookup or Inbound and scan a sample barcode. The scan should fill the field and submit without tapping the on-screen keyboard.
• If the scan types characters but never submits, the suffix is wrong — follow How to set up a generic barcode scanner for WMS?. Tire Base units are usually already set.
• If Test Printer fails, confirm the printer and Android are on the same Wi-Fi and that you are not trying to print from a personal phone (Why won’t labels print from my phone?).
