How to configure B2B Settings and show inventory as 100+?

This process works in apps: TB Sync, TB Books
This article will teach you how every control on the B2B Settings tab works, including order types, catalogs, the header, distribution centers, a per-center inventory display cap such as 100+, backorders, and search layout.
B2B Settings is a tab on a B2B sales channel in Sync. Open Sales Channels, select the portal, then B2B Settings. Books → Settings → B2B Portal is a shortcut into this same Sync screen. Click Save B2B Settings when you finish. Which warehouses and vendor connections feed the portal is chosen on the Vendors & Brands tab, not here. Theme (logo, colors, banners) and API keys are their own tabs. A delivery delay is not a separate switch. On each distribution center, Shipping method chooses a method from Settings → Shipping Methods, and that method’s Cutoff & Delivery ETD is the delay dealers see on that stock line. Leave it on No ETA label to hide the date. See How to show a delivery delay or ETA on the B2B portal, and How to change the top-left logo and colors on the B2B portal and website widget.
The control that shows inventory as 100+ is Display cap, under Distribution centers. Each center is a stock line dealers see (Local and Alternative by default). Type 100 in Display cap on a center and any quantity above 100 on that line shows as 100+. A quantity of 100 or less still shows the real number (100 on hand with a cap of 100 shows 100). Leave Display cap blank to show the exact quantity. The helper under the field says “Dealers see 50+ when stock is above this number” — 50 is only an example. The plus sign uses the number you typed, and you can set a different cap on each center. A cap of 1000 shows as 1,000+.
Display cap only changes the number on the B2B site. It does not change warehouse on-hand in Books or WMS, and it does not stop an order at that number. When Allow backorders is off, checkout still uses the real available quantity. Factory Direct does not limit the order to on-hand stock.
Name centers with words dealers should read (Local, West, Alternative). Create, rename, and assign warehouses under Organization Settings → Distribution Centers. The name is visible on the B2B site, so do not put a supplier’s name on a center. Open a center with Edit. Local inventory and Vendor connections are separate lists — check the warehouses and the feeds you already enabled on Vendors & Brands. An ATD connection can be split into All, Local, Local+, and Nationwide. On B2B Settings, turn centers on or off for this portal and mark one Portal default. Pick a Shipping method when that line should show an ETA, or leave No ETA label. Add distribution center on the Organization Settings list. A yellow note lists inventory that is not assigned — that stock will not appear as a line.
On a Local order, dealers see one line per center that has stock, with their home center highlighted first (up to five lines). On Factory Direct, Pallet, or Dropship, search shows one In Stock total, and that total uses the portal-default center’s display cap.
Home distribution center is not on this tab. On the Customers tab, expand a dealer and choose which center is highlighted first for them. Leave Portal default to use the center you marked Portal default.
The rest of the tab: Order Types are Local, Factory Direct, Pallet, and Dropship. Each one that is on has Min Qty and Price Level (or Customer Default). Factory Direct starts with a minimum of 100 — that is the smallest order, not the display cap. If none are checked, the portal uses Local. Pickup is a shipping method under Local. Dropship can collect the dealer’s customer address and charge shipping; that is not the Sync Dropship vendor portal. Product Types turns Tires, Wheels, or Parts off in the header, search, and Search by Vehicle. Shop By Category chooses the home-page tiles. Header Menu renames the buttons under the search bar and picks a destination: Search widget (vehicle / size / brand), Browse all inventory, Empty search page, or a Portal page (Home, Search, Factory Direct, Dealer Programs, Order History, Invoices, Account). Stock & Backorders → Allow backorders lets dealers order more than current stock (for example, 2 in stock · 7 backordered). Search Defaults sets the opening availability filter (In Stock, All Items, or Out of Stock), Cards or Table per catalog (Wheels starts on Table), table columns and price-level colors, Product Card Title, and Product Card Specs.
Steps
- Open Sales Channels in Sync and select the B2B portal. (Books → Settings → B2B Portal is a shortcut into this same Sync screen.) Open the B2B Settings tab.
- Under Order Types, check Local, Factory Direct, Pallet, and/or Dropship. Set Min Qty and Price Level on each one that is on. Factory Direct’s starting minimum of 100 is the smallest order, not the stock display. For Dropship, Collect destination address and charge shipping asks for the dealer’s customer address. This is not the Sync Dropship vendor portal.
- Under Product Types, leave Tires, Wheels, and/or Parts checked. Uncheck a catalog to hide its header button, search tab, and (for tires or wheels) that section of Search by Vehicle. At least one stays on.
- Under Shop By Category, check the home tiles dealers should see: Shop Tires, Shop Wheels, Shop Parts, Search by Size, Search by Vehicle, and Search by Brand. Uncheck all to hide the section. Hiding a tile does not turn the catalog off — Product Types does that.
- Under Header Menu, set each Button name and Destination, then reorder. Destinations are Search widget (vehicle / size / brand), Browse all inventory, Empty search page, or Portal page. Remove every button if dealers should only see the search bar.
- Create and rename distribution centers under Organization Settings → Distribution Centers (names, warehouses, vendor connections, display cap, and shipping ETA). On B2B Settings, turn those centers on or off for this portal and pick a Portal default. Use a customer-safe name — dealers see it. Do not put a supplier name on the center.
- Open Organization Settings → Distribution Centers, click Edit on a center, and type the Display cap. Enter 100 so stock above 100 shows as 100+ on the B2B site. Leave it blank to show the exact quantity. Each center has its own cap. 100 on hand with a cap of 100 still shows 100.
- On the Customers tab, expand a dealer and set Home distribution center when that dealer should see a specific center first. Leave Portal default to use the center marked on B2B Settings.
- Under Stock & Backorders, turn Allow backorders on only if dealers may order more than current stock. Under Search Defaults, set Default Availability Filter, Cards or Table for All search, Tires, Wheels, and Parts, and the Table Columns. Wheels starts on Table. The table fits the width; long specs such as Finish wrap up to three lines, then Show full text.
- Set Product Card Title and Product Card Specs, then click Save B2B Settings. Search the B2B site for a product with more than the cap on hand and confirm that stock line shows 100+ (or the cap you set).
Conclusion & best practices
Display cap is per distribution center and only changes what dealers read on the B2B site. Blank means the exact quantity. Do not confuse it with Factory Direct Min Qty, which is the smallest order. The delivery delay on a stock line is that center’s Shipping method ETD, not the display cap and not the fixed Factory Direct checkout note “ETA: 60-90 days.” Related: How to set up distribution centers for B2B and Sync?, How to show a delivery delay or ETA on the B2B portal?, How to change the top-left logo and colors on the B2B portal and website widget?, How to turn off Tires, Wheels, or Parts on the B2B portal?, How to choose Shop By Category tiles on the B2B home page?, and How to choose the product name on B2B search cards?.
